(C) Wandering Bears [ Taken Near: 11-15-1997 ]
Polar bears frequently have enormous home ranges. Large as they are, they need a great deal of food to survive; usually this is provided by seals hunted on the arctic ice. There have been female polar bears on record with home ranges as large as 300,000 square kilometers, following the pack ice in areas like the Bering Sea.
